Tools and Exchanges
ScrapMatchGA - Also known as the Georgia Industrial Materials Exchange, this program allows businesses and organizations to post Any Georgia organization (manufacturer, institution, commercial venture, etc.), may post their recyclable, unwanted, used, surplus, or reusable commodities to the Exchange. Entities located in and outside Georgia may post the materials they need to the Exchange. There are no costs for using the Exchange. However, Registration (one time only) is required in order to post a listing, but the Wanted and Available listings may be reviewed without registering.
FreeCycle.org – This is a local exchange of items for free. When you want to find a new home for something -- whether it's a chair, a fax machine, piano, or an old door -- you simply send an e-mail offering it to members of the local Freecycle group.
Gifts In Kind – A non-profit that arranges the donation of products to recipients in need. Gifts In Kind International and its thousands of generous corporate and association partners provide a vast range of products, including:
- Clothing, personal hygiene and care items, educational supplies, toys, and much more to ENHANCE the lives of individuals in need.
- Computers, software, office supplies, and other equipment to EMPOWER nonprofits and schools to accomplish even greater achievements in their communities.
- Building supplies, tools, furniture, and appliances to help RESTORE communities devastated by natural disaster or poverty

- EPA’s WasteWise Program - This program is free and voluntary program through which organizations can design their own waste reduction programs and receive recognition. The website also links to additional waste reduction resources, publications, and case studies.
- Earth911 - For services or materials not listed in Fact Sheet 2, this website is a free directory of local recyclers and recycling services of all materials. Simply specify the material to be recycled and your location, and you’ll be directed to local recycling services.
- Rechargeable Battery Recycling Corporation - RBRC is a non-profit, public service organization created to promote the recycling of portable rechargeable batteries and cellular phones. Their Call2Recycle program collects these batteries at drop-off locations for free.
