Preface
Sustainability is a hot buzzword for many sectors — including any office-based operation — but what is meant by the term is not always clear.
For an office, operating sustainably means using resources efficiently to ensure availability for future generations. Doing so sustains the resource, as well as the organization. When times are good economically, this practice makes good business sense; when times are bad, it can mean the survival of the company.
The goal of this Toolkit is to offer your organization the means to continually improve its operations. Smart business practices should not be in opposition to smart resource use. Indeed, when lacking the natural resources needed, organizations cannot survive.
We hope that in these pages, you will discover your organization’s path to more sustainable and profitable operations.
