Wiping
General Information
Wipe cleaning is usually done manually.
Wipe cleaning is best suited for nonrepetitive operations.
Wipe chemicals may be
acidic
,
alkaline
, or solvent-based.
Wipe materials may be common sponge or cloth or may be a more sophisticated material such as polyvinyl alcohol.
Repetitive use of wiping within a manufacturing process may indicate a possibility for process flow or materials storage improvements.
