CO2 Pellets

Economics

  • A capital investment of $170,000 to $250,000 is necessary for the pelletizer. More sophisticated models may cost upwards of $400,000. These costs do not include expenses for auxiliary equipment or installation.

  • Moore quotes a cost of $2/sq. ft. for removing 40 sq. ft. of Organotin antifoulant paint from the hull of a LCM by CO2 blasting. This cost is significantly less than the estimated cost of using chemical strippers and/or manual methods. The CO2 blasting required about 35 minutes.
