Safety

  • Toxicity tests on DBE as well as on the individual components show no reproductive or developmental toxicity. No organ damage except mild nasal lesions, indicative of irritation, was seen in 90-day tests.

  • DBE is a slight eye irritant. Any irritation is moderate and temporary. Overexposure may cause temporary blurred vision.

  • It is not a skin sensitizer.

  • The TLV of pure DBE is estimated to be 1 ppm.

  • DBE has a high flash point (100°C) and an autoignition temperature of 370°C. It is not classified as flammable.
