Cleaner Production Manual - Profile of Small and Medium-size Manufacturers in Massachusetts

Because of the diversity of processes involved in plating, there is no "one-size-fits-all" technology upgrade for all facilities. This is especially true for those plating shops that also conduct other types of metal finishing operations. Technology recommendations for a particular plating job shop will depend on the outcome of a facility-specific engineering assessment by OTA or other outside resource that is current on ever-changing technology research (and that carries liability insurance for providing design and compliance advice). Consequnetly, this Cleaner Production Manual identifies potential cleaner production opportunities in plating shops, instead of prescribing the adoption of individual technologies as a blanket solution for all plating job shops.
