Neutral Aqueous
Environment
- Waste disposal requirements will vary depending on the soils that are in the used water.
- DO NOT assume that just because you are using water you can automatically dispose of the water directly to the sewer.
- Contact your local publicly owned treatment works (POTW) to review your particular application prior to converting to water.
- Make sure that your facility and the local publicly owned treatment works (POTW) can handle the increase in water disposal and water supply.
- Use of neutral aqueous solutions may reduce or eliminate annual reporting under SARA Title III, Section 313 (Toxic Chemical Release Reporting).
- The rate at which closed-loop cleaning systems generate waste streams is much less than that of an open-loop system. The waste may be in the form of contaminated filters and reverse osmosis membranes.
