High Pressure Sprays Environment Most environmental issues are related to the cleaning liquid used. This type of equipment can consume cleaning liquid and generate waste at rates exceeding 10 gal/min. Most systems can be designed to recirculate the cleaning liquid through a storage tank. The contaminant that has been removed from the part can then settle out or be separated from the cleaning liquid. The contaminant removed from the part may become a waste that must be disposed of or treated. Make sure that your supply of water is adequate for the anticipated requirements. In some areas, availability of new water permits is limited. Do NOT assume that if you use water you can spray in the open and allow the water to run to drain. Check with your local water and sewer authorities first. Beware of the effluent foaming potential of some chemical additives.
