Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigments Manufacturers
In the U.S., the Ecological and Toxicological Association of Dyes and Organic Pigment
Manufacturers (ETAD) represents the interests of the dye manufacturing industry on health,
environmental and safety issues.
ETAD, with the support of the EPA, began a pollution prevention program in 1990.
Products of the program include: (1) a guidance manual to assist in determining
opportunities for pollution prevention throughout the life cycle which contains management
tools and ways to measure pollution prevention results; (2) a baseline survey of
prevailing pollution prevention practices in the dye industry in 1991; (3) a system for
measuring results, and procedures for monitoring and reporting progress; (4) case study
descriptions of existing projects; and (5) surveys of the industry's pollution prevention
achievements.
