American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society
The American
Electroplaters & Surface Finishers Society (AESF) is an international,
individual-membership, non-profit professional society dedicated to the advancement of the
profession of surface finishing. It is international in scope, serving several thousands
of members through its numerous Branches worldwide. The primary mission of AESF is to
advance the science of surface finishing to benefit industry and society through education
and information, via the Society's major conferences and exhibits, such as SUR/FIN;
educational Symposia, courses and seminars; as well as through books, illustrated
lectures, videotape courses and Proceedings.
For more than 17 years, AESF and the U.S. EPA have sponsored the "Pollution
Prevention and Control Conference," an intensive, three-day event for the metal
finishing industry that brings together top government officials and industry
representatives. The conference provides the latest technical information, as well as an
industry exhibit that showcases the newest products on the market. Other pollution
prevention courses and workshops sponsored by AESF include: Regulatory Compliance;
Wastewater treatment and Control; Innovative Recycling; and Pollution Prevention Planning.
The Society also addresses regulatory matters through two columns, "Enviroscope"
and "Advice and Counsel," in its monthly professional journal, Plating and
Surface Finishing.
