Moisture.
Excess moisture in paper can increase jamming in office equipment.  Particularly in humid climates, some people find it helpful to keep an electric light on constantly as a heater in the cabinet where paper is stored.  This keeps the moisture in the air from getting into the paper. It also adds to the energy, cost, and environmental burden of using paper, and if done improperly could be a fire hazard.  Thus, we are not encouraging the practice, but mention it as an example of what can be done to address a problem.  In most cases, keeping the paper in its original ream wrapper and reclosing the wrapper if only part of the ream is taken out will alleviate moisture problems.

Uncopiable Paper.
This web site is about reducing the paper used without reducing the useful content of the paper.  However, some people want to avoid copying to keep the information confidential rather than to rein in paper use. Nocopi Security Paper is marketed for just such uses.

Envelope Reuse.
Reuse of large envelopes is possible by putting a label over the previous address.  Of course care must be taken to obliterate the previous postmark. The envelope can be turned upside-down so that the upper right corner becomes the upper left.  If left in the original orientation, a second blank label can be put over the postmark.  People have been reusing envelopes for inter-office mail for years.  In these cases you don’t need to worry about the postmark and can likely be less concerned about looking "business-like".

Two-way envelopes.
"Two-way envelopes" can be used by businesses that would otherwise enclose a return envelope (using more paper and thereby possibly wasting extra postage).
