Rebuild Colorado: Energy Performance Contracting with
Energy Service Companies (ESCOs)DESCRIPTION:
Performance contracting lets future energy savings pay for the entire cost of commercial energy efficiency projects. No up-front funds are necessary. A property owner simply contracts with an energy service company, which designs, purchases, installs and maintains energy conservation projects. The energy service company guarantees that the actual energy savings achieved will pay for all project costs over the life of a contract.
ELIGIBILITY:
Building or groups of buildings that are larger than 40,000 square ft. or $40,000 a year. This is not absolute. There is a dependence on the energy saving capabilities of the buildings and/or energy saving equipment.
PURPOSE:
Rebuild Colorado offers assistance during each step of a performance-contracting project. Services range from providing a sample contract to furnishing an on-site expert in performance contracting to help monitor the energy improvements.
LOAN AMOUNT:
Limited to the amount of energy saving capabilities of the building and the energy saving equipment so that the program can be financed over a 10-year period.
