William "Bill" Gardner Stillwell, program manager at Pacific Northwest Laboratory, died suddenly December 8 of a heart attack. Stillwell had been with PNL for seven and one-half years. He worked with U.S. Department of Energy officials from both headquarters and the Hanford Site to build an integrated risk management program. Stillwell's contributions ranged from helping set overall objectives to developing a risk datasheet methodology for budget planning. Stillwell was helping DOE improve its environmental management program by developing decision bases on which to fund projects achieving maximum risk reduction.
Prior to coming to PNL, Stillwell worked for the Decision Science Consortium in Washington, D.C. and for Maxima Corporation in San Antonio and San Diego.
