The Center for High Performance Polymeric Adhesives and Composites is one of 25 Science & Technology Centers (STC) supported by the National Science Foundation and the only STC with a focus on polymer-based material systems. Efforts are primarily directed towards development of solvent-free, environmentally friendly processing methods encompassing both thermosetting networks and thermoplastic matrix and adhesive systems. Representative processing techniques include: hot melts, resin transfer molding (RTM), aqueous suspension prepregging, and electrostatic fluidized bed prepregging.
