Some concepts in cutting paper are new to many people such as "Default Duplex" and "Image Combination".  Some old ideas need serious reassessment, such as the Paperless Office. 

Paper Use is not a unique idea — in most important aspects, Paper Use is like Energy Use.  While the Counting Section goes on to discuss measuring and tracking paper, it is useful to start with some Basic Facts about office paper, with U.S. Paper Use generally, and with International Comparison of paper use.
