Lanier Copiers

The following table has characteristics for Lanier copiers that are useful for reducing paper use or electricity use.  See the Manufacturers page in the Other area for links to the Lanier web pages.

• A blank means that we do not have the data for the item.
• Speed and Duplex Speed are in copies-per-minute (many copiers are slower making double-sided copies).
• Default Duplex is the ability for the copier to be set to duplex copying as the default mode.  Most copiers are installed with default duplex off, and so need to be 'enabled' for it to default to duplex.
• Image Combination.  '2in1' is the ability to automatically combine two originals from the document feeder into one image.  Some may have '4in1' and other capabilities.
• Power Management is further described on the electricity page in the actions area.  Features with lines through them are not present.
• Paper Weight is the minimum paper weight for the main paper supply or document feeder (in lbs).

Lanier Notes

On all Lanier copiers, the service technician must enable default duplex.

On some models, default duplex only applies to originals placed in the document feeder.  Originals placed on the platen glass default to 1:1 copying, though duplexing can still be selected.

Most Lanier copiers have the 'Auto Paper Select' feature which selects the appropriate paper depending on the size of the original.  This contributes to paper efficiency by avoiding wasted copies when the wrong size paper is used by accident.

Additional notes, all brands.

• These data are derived from a variety of sources and may be incomplete or incorrect.  Please help us make these tables complete and correct by forwarding us additional information.
• Speed is the manufacturer's rated speed, for U.S. size paper (some high speed machines are faster copying A4-size paper).
• Duplex Speed measures the speed at which duplexed copies are made from a 10 page single sided original. If followed by a '*' is for 3 sets of copies, otherwise 10 sets.
• When Auto Off or Low Power are present and not required to meet Energy Star criteria for this copier, the power levels may exceed that allowed by Energy Star.
