waste management research:
a progress report


North Carolina State University is engaged in research aimed at developing practical solutions to animal and poultry waste-management issues. While most of this research is being conducted by faculty of the university's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, scientists from the College of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine and the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the College of Engineering are also involved. In addition, North Carolina State University has formed collaborations with Duke University, Iowa State University, Michigan State University, the University of Missouri, Purdue University, Oklahoma State University and several European institutions to study waste-management issues.
