Dr. Norine E. Noonan was confirmed on October 21, 1998, by the U.S. Senate to be Assistant Administrator for Research and Development at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The Office of Research and Development is the scientific and technological arm of the Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Noonan oversees three headquarters offices, three national research laboratories and two national centers, all organized around a strategy of risk assessment and risk management to remediate environmental and human health problems.

Hr Anders Wijkman is a member of European
Parliament (1999 ­ 2004) representing Sweden. He is affiliated
with the Group of the European People's Party (Christian Democrats)
and the European Democrats (EPP-ED). Within the EU Parliament,
Mr. Wijkman serves on several committees including the Committee
on Industry, External Trade, Research and Energy, the Committee
on Development and Cooperation, as a Substitute member, as well
as part of the group of Members from the European Parliament to
the Joint Assembly of the Agreement between the African, Caribbean
and Pacific States and the European Union (ACP-EU). Mr. Wijkman
was Director of the leading environment NGO in Sweden from 1989
to 1992 and was Assistant Secretary General at the UN (1995-1997).
His special responsibility was as Policy Director of UNDP.

Mr. Bas de Leeuw is Senior Advisor of the Environment Programme of the United Nations (UNEP), Division of Technology, Industry and Economics (UNEP DTIE), Production and Consumption Unit, based in Paris. He has initiated and is responsible for the Sustainable Consumption Programme. In 1998 he was seconded to UNEP by the Dutch Government. Before joining UNEP Mr. De Leeuw has worked in several areas, including six years (1985-1991) for the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs (on business, technology, energy and environmental issues), followed by another six years (1991-1997) for the Dutch Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. In this function he was Dept. Head of the Consumer and Product Policy Department, responsible for the Dutch consumption and product policies. He has a Masters Degree in Economic Policy from the Rotterdam Erasmus University.

Dr. Marc J. Epstein is a Research Professor of Management at Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University in Houston, Texas. He has completed extensive academic research and has substantial practical experience in the implementation of corporate strategies and the development of performance metrics for use in these implementations. Much of his focus has been on the implementation of systems to identify, measure, and manage social and environmental impacts. Two of his published works include Measuring Corporate Environmental Performance: Best Practices for Costing and Managing an Effective Environmental Strategy, and his most recent book, Counting What Counts: Turning Corporate Accountability to Competitive Advantage.
Dr. Epstein provides seminars, executive courses, and lectures
to senior managerial audiences throughout the world. He has extensive
industry experience and has been a senior consultant to leading
corporations and governments for over 25 years.
