Waste Treatment Technology in JAPAN
Ash Handling
Fig.1 FiIm Melting Furnace
[Introduction]
This is a highly advanced system which can be installed in the existing incinerator to melt ashes. The melted slag, reduced to 3 to 5 % by volume of the charged refuse, is reclaimable as civil material.
This system can be installed independently.
[System flow]
The flowchart of the system is shown below for Film Melting Furnace as an example, see Fig.1.
Film Melting Furnace Flow-diagram
[Characteristics]
To prevent the generation of PCDDs (polychlorinated-dibenzo-p-dioxins), bag filter type dust collectors are used instead of the electrostatic precipitator. To make incineration ash harmless and reduce its volume, an ash slagging incinerator is used which can dispose of all the ash generated, including that generated from existing incinerators.
[Actual results]
TAKUMA has installed 5 Ash Melting systems in Japan.
