Waste Treatment Technology in JAPAN
Drying, Incineration and Melting

INCINERATION SYSTEM

1. Purpose

This system incinerates, reduces and changes them harmless the industrial wastes, which include a lot of wood and paper, etc. As shown in the figure, the industrial wastes are dried, ignited, incinerated and reduced to ashes with mixing and shifting repeatedly on the stoker. The stoker is made by heat-resistant high-chrome steel alloy. And it is cooled by air and drived by oil pressure system.

2. Performance

Ignition loss: 5 - 15 % (600deg.C , 3H)
Temperature for combustion: 750 - 950deg.C
NOx concentration: 50 - 250 ppm (O2 12%)
CO concentration: under 50 ppm (O2 12%)

3. Characteristics

1) Comparatively large scale wastes, which include a lot of wood and paper, etc., are
burnt stably because of long stay time on the stoker.

2) In the case of little water contents or rich plastic wastes contents, the high calorie wastes are burnt on the forward - acting stoker without melting trouble.

3) The stoker system can incinerate the waste which includes sludge about 30%.

4) The waste are burnt completely by adequately secondary air for stoker system.
