INCINERATION PLANT WITH DOWNFLOW <JET FIRE> COMBUSTION SYSTEM FOR INDUSTRIAL WASTE

1.INTRODUCTION

This incineration plants have been developed for the reducing volume of the miscellaneous industrial waste or office waste such as waste wood, waste paper and waste texile with 30-40 % waste plastics in more economy and effective way with its distinctive downflow combustion system, so-called <JET FIRE> ,in co-oporate with JET FURNACE LTD(Tokyo,Japan). This downflow combustion system has following advantages compared with other conventional inciniration plants.

(1) SAFETY OPERATION:

Safety and easy operation can be obtained because any supply control of waste shall not required because of no trouble of backfire.
(2) LONG LIFETIME:
Simple construction of furnace will realize long lifetime of furnace because any agitation of combustible waste shall not required.
(3) SAVING ENERGY:
Fuel for secondary burner shall be decreased because higher combustion efficiency can be obtained due to effective utilization of radiation them.

2.OUTLINE OF SYSTEM

(1) TREATMENT CAPACITY FOR MISCELLANEOUS WASTE

The most suitable type and capacity can be chosen according to kinds and volume of combustible waste.

(2) COMPONENTS OF SYSTEM

This system shall be composed of following machinery and equipments.

-Waste bunker
-Incinerator
-Gas cooling equipment
-Dust collector
-Exhaust gas treatment equipment

The pollution control equipment shall be arranged according to requirement of local rule where the plant is installed.

3. SPECIAL FEATURE OF DOWNFLOW COMBUSTION SYSTEM

Downflow combustion system shall realize most suitable furnace construction for perfect combustion.
Schematic drawing of downflow combustion system is shown in FIG. 1. Special features of this combustion system are as follows .

FIG.1. SCHEMATIC DRAWING OF DOWNFLOW COMBUSITION SYSTEM

(1) HIGH SAFETY AND SIMPLY OPERATION

1) HIGH SAFETY:

In downflow combustion system ,it is so designed that negative pressure shall be kept in furnace. Accordingly, any possibility of gas leakage and backfire shall not be occurred. Furthermore, continuous supply of waste can be possible due to this design concept. It is explained that any trouble cannot be found in operation experience of more than 400 units.
2) SIMPLY OPERATION:
Because autocontrol combustion system shall be applied in this furnace and any gas leakage and any backfire will not be occurred due to downflow design ,it is possible that persons who has not any technical knowledge and any operation experience of incineration plant will master easily operation method during short period.
3) SIMPLE OPERATION FOR WASTE FEED:
Even if ,much quantity of miscellaneous waste will be fed and contained in furnace at same time, constant volume of waste will be burned continuously automatically. Accordingly, any feed control will not be required. Furthermore, waste with large dimension can be fed to hopper with large opening and any agitation of waste cannot be required. Abovementioned simply operation will not be found in any other conventional incinirating plant.
(2) LOWER ENERGY CONSUMPTIONION:
Combustion gases containing unburnt combustible shall absorb high temperature radiation them from furnace bed and secondary combustion will occur. Accordingly, fuel consumption in recombusition burner to diminish smoke will be much reduced.
(3) POLLUTION CONTROL:
Because that the furnace shall be provided with dust collecting room of cyclone type by applying induced draft fan even for smaller type furnace, dust concentration can be kept lower than 0.2g/Nm3 even if at the time of fee ding operation of waste. Furthermore, wet type dust collector shall be provided in order to obtain increased dust collecting effect.

(4) ENDURANCE OF FURNACE:

Whole furnace wall shall be of brik work and temperature in furnace shall be kept lower than 1,200deg.C even during burning high calorific waste by means of combustion control. Accordingly, long lifetime of furnace can be obtained.

4. PROCESS OF INCINERATION PLANT

One of typical process for incineration plant for industrial waste is shown in FIG.2
