l) Swing-type grate
The grate, together with other parts, is assemble in the frame and driven hydraulically and is arranged in rows of two arrays, A and B, lined in every other line parallel to the flow of refuse.
2) Sun-type grate
In Sun-type grate,the two arrays of grates,fixed and movable,mutualy In Sun-type grate, the tow arrays of grates, fixed and movalbe, mutualy arranged invevery other raw parallel to the flow of refuse. For high calorific refuse, Suntype grate is only used recenty in Japan.
1. Outline of KAWASAKI Stoker-Type Incinerator
KAWASAKI Stoker-Type Incinerator for domestic refuse has been installed and operated more than 250 units in Japan and other countries since 1963. KAWASAKI has now three types of stoker such as Reciprocating grate stoker, Step grate stoker were debbeloped by KAWASAKI and Roller grate stoker was introduced from DBA in Germany. The main stoker which has been recently much installed is Reciprocating grate having excellent incineration performance in wide range of calorific refuses from high to low. Here, two types of grate of sun-type and Swing-type in Reciprocating grate are introduced.
2. Features of Sun-type and Swing-type grate

The first stage ( drying ) is used Swing-type grate and Three stages from the second to the fourth ( combustion and burn out ) are used Sun-type grate.

Fig.2 shows the construction of swing-type grate and the main part is in the shape of sectore cross-section. The grate has an ample range of movement in the aic with 70 ° and gives good effects on disentanglement,agitation and mixing of refuse. It is featured in disentangling refuse with an ample movement shile sending it out, increasing exposed surface of refuse on its. drying refuse well good areation and supplying air for combustion easily to the refuse ignited by radiation.

Fig.3 shows the construction of sun-type grate is used is combustion and burnout stages. With slow and small reciprocating movement in the area, it shears refuse raises efficiencies for sending and aerating refuse and maintains and completes combustion of refuse supplying a suitable amount of air of a proper temperature.
