Waste Treatment Technology in JAPAN
Crushing, Sorting
Fig. 1 Typical Flowchart of the System.
(2) Provision of monitor systems, which are necessary for the operation, enables
remote-control operations controls for the entire system from the central
operation office.
(3) Provision of the dust collector equipment allows prevention of dust leak to outside
air.
(4) Purity of recovered magnetic substance and non-magnetic metals is high enough
to recycled resources.
[General]
Large size wastes that are discharged from residential homes and factories include vast quantity of recyclable materials such as metals, and they also include combustibles that can be returned as fuel. This bulky wastes shredding system classifies the wastes into magnetic substance, non-magnetic metals, combustibles and plastic noncombustibles after it shreds the large size wastes, thus enabling recycling of resources and heat.
[System Configuration]
The large size wastes are first shredded roughly by the pretreatment hammer shredder. In the cases of combustible wastes such as lumber scraps, they are carried to the combustible refuse pit. Other type of large size wastes are shredded into small pieces by the hammer shredder, and thereafter, magnetic substance are classified and picked up by an electro-magnet, non-magnetic metals are picked up by means of a traveling magnetic field which is formed by utilizing permanent magnets, and plastics are picked up by wind force. Further, the system also classifies combustibles and non-combustibles. Thus, the classified magnetic substance and non-magnetic metals will be recycled to resources, plastics will be remolded or used as fuel, and combustibles will be used as fuel. Noncombustibles will be used for landfill operations.
Flg. 1 shows a typical flowchart of this system.
