The refuse vacuum sealed conveyance system of suction type is most suitable for conveying refuse from many refuse inlets dotted in a broad area to a single collection center, but its conveyance distance is limited to 2.5 km maximum. While utilizing advantages of this pipe line conveyance, the capsuled transportation system is designed to have the capability of refuse transportation over a long distance of several kilometers at least. This capsuled transportation system is applicable as secondary transporting equipment in place of the container vehicle which transports refuse from the collection center of the refuse vacuum conveyance system, as well as secondary transporting equipment of the refuse transfer station.

An example of this system is a plant having a pipe line size of 1,200 mm, a transportation distance of approx. 11 km, a transported refuse amount of 350 to 400 tons per day that was constructed in Petersburg (ealier Leningrad) of Russia in 1983.
