Building a house from the ground up with all the available energy and water conserving techniques and materials is the best way to have a state-of-the-art energy and water conservation home. Most people will not have the opportunity to build their own home and will have to make do with homes that were built before energy and water consciousness became important considerations. Fortunately, several improvements can be made to a house that are relatively inexpensive, and are effective ways to reduce energy and water consumption.
