"This certification is specific to the reduction of engine oil usage and used oil generation. The system has been shown to be an effective means of extending engine oil change intervals through the removal of particulates, water, and dissolved fuel. Extension of drain intervals reduce: use of new oil, generation of used oil, and potential of spills while draining and transporting used oil. The certificate is awarded pursuant to the California Regulatory Notice Register Number 98, Volume 24-Z, pages 1120-1122."

Technology Description:

This pollution prevention technology is a bypass engine oil filtration system that extends the drain intervals between oil changes. The use of this system reduces the need for new oil and radically lowers the generation of waste oil. The system has been successfully used to reduce (and in some instances, eliminate) engine oil changes on gas and diesel trucks.

Technology Application:

A typical application of the Onboard Oil Management System is to extend engine oil life between oil changes.
