The U.S. Department of Energy's
Office of Science and Technology has released a new set of cards to
illustrate and describe OST-funded environmental technologies that are
well on their way to commercialization. Included with the cards
is a technology investment decision model OST uses to help decide
if a new technology's performance and acceptability warrant
continued funding. The new cards feature technologies that have progressed through
at least gate 4 on the model and are entering the engineering development
phase. Each card contains a color photograph of the technology on
one side and a description and list of applications and benefits
on the other side.
To receive a packet of technology cards and OST's model for making technology investment decisions, call DOE's Center for Environmental Management Information at (800) 736-3282. If calling from Washington, D.C., call (202) 863-5084.
