                Big 3 keep focus on uses for recycled coolant, tires. Jack

            Abstract: Used tires and expended engine coolant pose a significant 
            environmental problem because of the difficulty in disposing of them 
            safely. Most of the time, highly-toxic coolant is just dumped into 
            sewers while used tires are piled into huge mounds. To address the 
            problem, General Motors Corp and Ford Motor Co have developed 
            coolant recycling systems and are studying the use of remanufactured 
            coolant in new vehicles. Chrysler Corp is using discarded tires to 
            make steering shaft seals and fender liners.
