BioCycle, March 1998 v39 n3 p40(3) What's new with ground rubber? Michael Blumenthal. Abstract: Recycled rubber, particularly ground rubber, has seen steadily increasing demand from 1992 to 1996. In 1992, only 120 million pounds were sold in the open market. This has increased to 440 million in 1996. This growth has encouraged more and more players in the market resulting in oversupply and an end to the five-year growth period. While this has been an unfortunate development, it would not put an end to the industry. Perhaps fewer players will help the industry regain its equilibrium. Article A20933469
