NEWSLETTER "Pollution Prevention Quarterly"

This is a quarterly newsletter containing valuable pollution prevention information. The newsletters include articles on success stories, new technologies, new regulations, industry or process specific "Helpful Hints", a "Calendar of Events", and a local "Waste Exchange". Articles may be submitted for consideration for publication. To be included on our "Calendar of Events or our permanent mailing list please contact us by mail or telephone.

WORKSHOPS & TRAINING

Workshops are periodically organized to help educate an audience on pollution prevention options. These are typically industry or process specific. Experts in the field are invited as guest speakers as well as representatives from facilities that have already implemented changes (to pass along "real world" experiences). Associations or organizations that are interested in training or hosting a workshop on pollution prevention should contact us. This includes companies with large staff that wish to organize in-house training.

LIBRARY

Reference materials are available for companies that wish to do research. This includes information fact sheets, articles, booklets, books, software, vendor brochures, etc. These materials are available during regular office hours. These materials may be reviewed in our office and duplicated at a minimal cost. As well, the library includes a number of videotapes that may be checked out (refundable deposit) or duplicated (at a minimal cost.)

WASTE MINIMIZATION ASSESSMENT

In an effort to assist facilities, the Pollution Prevention Program is able to provide a free technical "Waste Minimization Assessment" to selected facilities. This is an assessment of the facility's processes, procedures, layout, materials usage, etc. Options are then presented on methods available to minimize waste and improve overall efficiency. The ideas presented in the survey are some of the options available. The company may choose to accept and implement all, some, or none of the options presented.
