Site Reuse and Redevelopment Program
Technical Assistance for the Reuse/Redevelopment of Sites
To address the reuse of sites in Michigan's older communities and establish a non-regulatory customer assistance program to benefit the environment and economic development, the Michigan Department of Commerce (MDOC) created the Site Reuse and Redevelopment Program within the Environmental Services Division. This program is designed to provide technical assistance on elements site reclamation (in cooperation with the Michigan Department of Natural Resources [MDNR]), site reuse/redevelopment and project packaging.
The Site Reuse and Redevelopment Program is managed by the Environmental Services Division, MDOC. The Site Reclamation/List Program is managed by the Environmental Response Division, MDNR.
Site clearance, demolition and rehabilitation is a category of the MDOC Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program which is available to eligible non-entitlement governmental units.
Environmental cleanup for economic development is a category under the Michigan Environmental Protection Bond of 1988 which is available to all eligible governmental units.
Site Clearance, Demolition and Rehabilitation - Provide technical assistance and compliance information to communities and development agencies in the planning, funding and implementation of site clearance, demolition and rehabilitation.
