Environmental Sustainability Efforts:

• Recycling programs that includes white paper, aluminum cans, batteries and oil 

• Buys recycled products and requires that all equipment carry the EPA Energy Star certification

• Uses web site to distribute information instead of massive mailings

• Artificial Reef Section uses concrete rubble and barges that are donated or purchased at reduced cost as artificial reefs

• Uses community services workers to assist in maintaining building and grounds

• Participates in a surplus program that allows other state agencies first chance at old equipment that will be sold as surplus

•  Educates employees through news tips in the internal newsletter, Inside Waters

•  Plans to begin recycling newspapers in the near future
