    This annual catalog lists dozens of books, films, videos, learning kits, maps, games and software suitable for teaching pre-kindergarten through 12, and adult science, math, geography, social studies and language arts. A wide variety of topics are covered, including specific biomes, ecosystems and migratory species. Catalog is free from NGS; prices for products vary. Films and videos can be previewed and rented for educational uses.

  • Rain Forests: Tropical Treasures
    National Wildlife Federation
    This activity guide is one unit in the NatureScope series designed to help K-8 educators incorporate science and environmental education into their teaching. The guide includes background information, hands-on activities, ready-to-copy activity sheets, a glossary and a bibliography. It also includes a list of places to visit to see rain forest exhibits.     A teaching kit to help students understand the links between population and the environment in the context of sustainable development. Includes a student resource book, teacher's guide, world population data sheet and world environment data sheet. The complete kit is $13.   • Teacher's Guide to World Resources 1992-93

    This 130-page handbook for high school science, geography and social studies teachers is a companion to the World Resources 1992-93 book. The book contains the latest information on essential economic, population and natural resource conditions and trends for 153 countries. The teacher's guide contains step-by-step lesson plans, reproducible handouts, transparency masters and reading lists for teaching about sustainable development, watershed pollution, deforestation, biodiversity, population growth, poverty and pollution. The teacher's guide is $5.95, and the reference book is $19.95. A 20 percent discount is available to secondary faculty.
